What's a passkey?

What is a passkey, exactly?
A passkey is a modern replacement for passwords. It uses your device's built-in security (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a hardware key) to prove who you are. There's nothing to type, nothing to remember, and nothing that can be phished.
Why passkeys instead of passwords?
We're a security monitoring tool. It would be a bit awkward to secure your account with a password. Passkeys are phishing-resistant, can't be reused across sites, and don't rely on you picking a strong one. They're the most secure authentication method available today, and they're easier to use than passwords.
What if I lose my device?
Most passkeys sync across your devices via iCloud Keychain (Apple), Google Password Manager, or Windows Hello. If you lose a single device, your passkey is still available on your other devices. If you lose access entirely, contact us and we'll help you regain access to your account.
Which browsers and devices support passkeys?
All modern browsers support passkeys: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. They work on macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, and Linux. If your device has biometric authentication or a PIN, it almost certainly supports passkeys.
